Bisons golf team moves up seven places after two rounds

The Bisons golf team battled the weather and a tough field of competitors to move from 17th to 10th after two rounds of the Mission Inn Collegiate Classic at Howey-In-The Hills, Fla.

First round completion was delayed until Saturday morning due to weather conditions with the second round completed Saturday afternoon. The third round of the 54-hole tournament concludes Sunday.

Lipscomb's Parker Beck is tied for 11th after shooting a 70 in round two. He has a tw0-round total of 142 on the par 71 course.

Cody Hale struggled with his putting in round two to score a 75, giving him a two-round total of 148. He is tied for 43rd with teammate Taylor Lewis who shot a second-round 71 for a 148.

Rounding out the scoring for the Bisons are Jonathan Beck in a tie for 51st with scores of 79 and 70 (149) and Paul Warren, tied for 77th, with a 155 (77-78).

The Bisons team score after two rounds is 585, 17 shots behind tournament leader Old Dominion.

Murray State is second followed by Jacksonville State, Charleston Southern, Elon, Bethune-Cookman, Radford and Wofford and St. John's in tie for ninth.

Trailing the Bisons, the highest-placed of five Atlantic Sun schools in the tournament, are Tennessee-Chattanooga, Towson, Winthrop, Stetson, Jacksonville, High Point, Florida Atlantic and Gardner-Webb.
