Boynton Leads Lady Bisons to Top of A-Sun Standings Lipscomb's Courtney Boynton Earns A-Sun Women's Basketball Weekly Honor
Macon, Ga. - Lipscomb's Courtney Boynton (Sr./Wing/Hendersonville, Tenn.) led the Lady Bisons to a perfect 3-0 week and moved the squad atop of the A-Sun Standings. For her efforts, Boynton has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Women's Basketball Player-of-the-Week as announced by the conference office on Monday.

Boynton started the week with a 13-point, six-rebound, five-assist effort in a win over Belmont in the first "Battle of the Boulevard" of the year. The senior hit 6-of-6 from the free throw line while swiping four steals. On Thursday, Boynton scored 14 points and swiped three more steals in Lipscomb's win over Gardner-Webb, while hitting all four free throws she attempted. Boynton finished the week with a 24-point, four-rebound effort in a win over Campbell. Boynton knocked down four three-pointers and all four free throw attempts in the victory.
For the week, Boynton averaged 17.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 3.7 steals per game. The wing player hit 15-of-30 from the field and 7-of-18 from three-point range, while knocking down all 14 free-throw attempts. Boynton currently leads the NCAA in free throw shooting percentage, hitting 32-of-33 free throws this year.
Boynton currently leads the A-Sun with 17.4 points and 3.64 steals per game, while shooting 97.2 percent from the free-throw line, tops in the league. Boynton is also second in the league with a 44.1 percentage mark from behind the three-point line.
This marks the second time this season that Boynton has earned A-Sun Player-of-the-Week honors, previously on December 6th.
Lipscomb (8-3, 5-0 A-Sun) returns to action on Thursday when they travel to Georgia State for a 6:00 ET tip-off.
