Brie Rowdon, an All-State golfer from Jackson, Mich., has signed to play for the Lipscomb Lady Bisons golf team. Coach Ralph Samples made the announcement Monday.
Rowdon, who attends Lumen Christi High School, has been a member of the Michigan All-State golf team since her freshman year. As a junior she was a member of the All-State Super Team selected by the Michigan Interscholastic Golf Coaches Association. She is also a four-time All-Area and All-Conference selection.
Last week she helped her team return to the Michigan State Championship with a chance to earn their third straight Division 3 state title. Rowdon earned medalist honors with a 77, the third year in a row she has been the regional medalist.
Rowdon and the Lumen Christi golf team have been to the state championships all four years she has been on the team. Last year Rowdon was the individual state champion.
In 2003 Rowdon was the Golf Association of Michigan Girls Junior Amateur Champion. She has also been a member of the Powerbilt Junior Tour since 2000, earning a spot on the All-Tour Team each year.
Her scoring average in 2004 was 77.
