She was fourth in the Class AAA regionals last October with a score of 82. She participated in the State AA Championships as a freshman and sophomore and the State AAA State Championship in 2002, finishing 27th in a field of 56.
She led her team to a regional championship as a sophomore. She also served as team captain.
"Callie began playing golf for me when she was in middle school," said Jim Herron, golf coach at Hickman County High School. "Callie is a coach's dream. She is very mature, responsible, disciplined and has a great work ethic."
Callie, 5-foot-10, has a 4.0 grade point average. She also played tennis for four years in high school.
"All of Callie's golf is ahead of her," said Bob Wolcott, director of golf at Greystone who has spent more than a year working with Callie on her golf skills. "I feel like she will be a great asset to any team she plays for. She has great feel around the greens, and has the power for today's courses."
Callie is the daughter of James and Pamela Rice.
She was also recruited by several other schools including Rhodes, the University of the South, Freed-Hardeman, Lincoln Memorial, Centre College and Cumberland University.
