Lipscomb Lady Bisons got off to a slow start Friday in the first day of the War Eagle Classic at Auburn University in Auburn, Ala.
The Lady Bisons lost the first game to Furman 5-4 in extra innings.
Furman came back to tie the game with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
The Lady Bisons took the lead again with one run in the top of the eighth. Heather Collins started the inning on second base. She advanced to third on a ground out to first by Julia Davidson. She then scored on a throwing error by Furman's catcher.
Furman, capitalizing on a single and a double scored two runs in the eighth to seal the victory.
Lady Bisons lead-off hitter Leigh Little had her second multi-hit game of the season with two singles.
Sara Meek was on the mound for the Lady Bisons. She gave up six hits and five runs, four earned, in 7.2 innings. She struck out five and walked three.
The Lady Bisons, 1-4, had six hits for the game.
