An attempt to get back on the winning track in game two of the War Eagle Classic fell short Friday evening as the Lipscomb Lady Bisons fell 11-1 to Jacksonville State at Auburn University in Auburn, Ala.
Jacksonville State scored seven runs in the first three innings, and added four more in the fifth to end the game early due to the lead.
Allison Tyree pitched for the Lady Bisons allowing nine hits and eight earned runs. She struck out four and walked four.
Christine Pierce started the game for Jacksonville State. She gave up three hits and one unearned run in four innings. Amy Brown came on in relief and threw a scoreless and hitless fifth inning.
The Lady Bisons lone run came in the bottom of the fourth inning. With one out. Julia Davidson reached base on an error by the centerfielder, advancing to third on the play. She was drive home on a single to center field by Heather Collins.
The Lady Bisons are 1-5. Jacksonville State is 1-1.
