The Lipscomb tennis teams closed out the regular season Monday afternoon with both the men's and women's teams winning 7-0 against visiting Tennessee State University.
"This was a good match to end the season with<" said Lipscomb coach Lynn Griffith. "Hopefully the momentum and positive attitudes will carry over into the A-Sun Tournament. In my 25 years of collegiate coaching, I am as proud of these teams as any I have ever coached. These teams battled every adversity possible. We played a tough schedule, had injuries, and the most difficult were some personnel issues."
Both teams refused to give up, winning the majority of their matches during the latter part of the season.
"At one point this season, the men's team had a 2-11 record, and the women's team had a 2-13 record," Griffith said. "The men finished with an 8-12 record and the ladies finished with a 7-14 record."
