Lipscomb forward Eddie Ard posted his first double-double in game seven of Reach USA's eight game tour of China. Ard's 11 points were accompanied by 11 rebounds and two steals. The rising senior was four of five from the field.
Reach USA defeated Zhe Jiang 85-71 to end a two-game losing streak. The game followed similar patterns as the first two games against Zhe Jiang with Reach USA holding a nine point lead in the first half and extending it to eleven points during the second half. Zhe Jiang made a run towards the end of the game, but timely shooting by the USA squad allowed the Americans to improve to 5-2 on the current tour.
Ard averaged 15.0 points and 5.8 rebounds per game during the 2006-07 season while starting all 31 games for the Bisons. A member of the 2nd team All-Atlantic Sun, Ard led the conference in free throw percentage at 83.0%. His only double-double last season came in the Bisons November 30 victory over Jacksonville.
The complete Reach USA team includes Ard, LSU's Garrett Temple, Mississippi State's Brian Johnson, Texas-Pan American's Paul Stoll, Auburn's Quan Prowell and Rasheem Barrett, and Alabama's Mikhail Torrance and Demetrius Jemison.
