Monday, September 11, 2006 Sept. 11, 2006 The Bisons cross country team finished sixth over the weekend at the Powerade Opener at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. Ryan Chastain was the only top 20 finisher for the Bisons. He covered the 5-K course in a time of 16:15. "With captain Clint Carter sidelined with injuries our overall team scores have been compromised," said Lipscomb coach Karen Robichaud. "However, freshmen Ryan Chastain and Paul Irvin demonstrated much talent and a strong work ethic that will assist the Bisons in higher A-Sun rankings. As our freshmen adapt to 8-K racing strategies our team will be much improved." The other Bisons finishers were Jordan Wilson in 30th (16:42), Paul Irvin in 33rd (17:02), David Wolfe in the 38th spot (17:22). Jacob Nelson at 40ths (17:29) and Andrew Shankles in 41st place (17:49). Alabama won the men's event followed by Tennessee, UT-Chattanooga , Samford and Auburn. Middle Tennessee State finished in seventh. |
