Halie Proffitt, a two-time All-State soccer player from David Lipscomb High School, has signed to play soccer for the Lipscomb Lady Bisons soccer team.
Proffitt is one of the most heavily recruited soccer athletes signed by the program with approximately 30 schools seeking her services.
She was named All-State in 2004 and 2005 and also All-TACA in 2004 and 2005. She was also an All-Region selection and All-District selection in 2004 and 2005,
She is a three-time team captain in 2004, 2005 and 2006. She was the Most Valuable Player for David Lipscomb High School in 2004 and 2005.
She has been a member of the Tennessee State Olympic Development Team for two years. She started her high school career at Franklin High where she was a member of the 2003 State Championship Team.
As a member of the Tennessee Futbol Club she has been part of a state finalist team in 2003 and 2006 and a State Champion in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2005.
In 2004 she scored 29 goals in a season. She has scored 54 goals in her career. She has 27 career assists. She has averaged 1.96 goals per game and .73 assists per game.
She has also excelled academically with membership in the National Honor Society, Who's Who Among American High School Students and inclusion on the school Honor Roll.
She plans to major in sports medicine.
"I love Nashville and the people," Halie said. "The school offers everything I want and need for the next four years of my life."
Halie is the daughter of Dawn and Nathan Proffitt and lives in Brentwood. She was coached in soccer at David Lipscomb by her father.
