Saturday, March 24, 2007 March 24, 2007 The Lady Bisons finished the first day of the Stetson Invitational with a 1-1 record. After starting the day with a 4-3 win over Princeton, they closed out their Ivy League experience with a 5-3 loss to Cornell at Patricia Wilson Field in DeLand, Fla. Leigh Little extended her hitting streak to nine games. In the first inning Lauren Dortwegt walked. Little slapped a double to center field scoring Dortwegt. In the fifth inning the Lady Bisons struck for two more runs. Little opened with her second hit of the day, a single to right. Heather Collins reached base on a fielder's choice as Little was thrown out. Kellie Sirus also reached base on a fielder's choice. Collins managed to stay on base due to an error. Abby Keese singled to score Collins. Christen Campbell doubled to score Kellie Sirus. Campbell finished the game with two hits. . Nicole Cheever hit a home run for Cornell to tie the game in the third. Meghan Resica hit a two-run home run to center in the fourth. Berkey iced the game with a home run in the sixth. Kim Jacobson pitched the complete game for the Lady Bisons. She scattered nine hits. She struck out six and did not walk a batter. Haley Mirren earned the win for Cornell. She walked four and struck out one. |
