Lady Bisons hang tough against Arkansas-Little Rock

The Lady Bisons played a tough Arkansas-Little Rock team to a 3-2 match loss Saturday in the Tiger Invitational at the University of Memphis in Memphis, Tenn.

The Lady Bisons dropped game one 30-22, then rallied to win game two 30-27. After losing game three 30-23 the Lady Bisons once again fought back to tie the match at 2-2 with a 30-27 win. Arkansas-Little Rock closed out the match with a 15-11 win.

Cara Wilber recorded the first double-double of the season for the Lady Bisons with a team-tying 14 kills and 11 digs.

Ann Mullins led the Lady Bisons in digs with 23, Jessica Enderle finished with 18 followed by Lindsey Rutherford with 16 and Betsy Steele with 15.

Ashley Cox also had 14 kills, the second time this season she has led or tied for the lead in kills. Alex Scruggs finished with 11 kills and a .391 hitting percentage.

Rutherford and Mullins each had a pair of service aces.

The Lady Bisons fell to 3-6 with the loss. Arkansas-Little Rock improved to 6-6.
