The Lipscomb Bisons lost 4-1 Sunday morning to Winthrop in the second round of the Soccer For A Cure Classic at Greene-Harbison Stadium on the campus of Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, N.C.
The Bisons jumped out to a 1-0 lead at 9:59 of the first half when sophomore forward Miguel DaSilva connected on a penalty kick. It was his third goal of the tournament and his second successful penalty kick of the season.
Winthrop forward Daniel Revivo scored all four of his team's goals, two of them unassisted. He had one on the first half and three in the second. Revivo led Winthrop with six shots.
Freshman goalkeeper Patrick Walsh went the distance for the Bisons, making two saves.
Freshman defender Josh Lind had two shots to lead the Bisons. The Bisons were out shot 15-8.
The Bisons are 1-1. Winthrop, a 1-0 loser Friday in double overtime to Belmont Friday night, is also 1-1.
