MACON, Ga. - Defending Atlantic Sun Conference Volleyball champion Lipscomb sits atop the A-Sun standings and Alex Kelly's play is a large reason why. The sophomore continued her smashing play over the weekend in a pair of victories that kept the Lady Bisons tied for first against A-Sun competition. On Monday the league office rewarded Kelly with her third Player of the Week honor.
The Lady Bisons were 2-0 in A-Sun play behind two double-doubles by Kelly, who now has seven straight matches in double-doubles in kills and digs. She had 18 kills, a team high, and 12 digs in a 3-1 win at Mercer and a match-high 22 kills and 16 digs in a 3-1 win at Kennesaw State. Kelly leads the A-Sun in hitting percentage (.338) and kills (300) in overall play, and tops the in conference leader board with 155 kills.
