Lipscomb right-handed pitcher Josh Smith was drafted in the 21st round by the Cincinnati Reds Tuesday afternoon in the Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft.

Lipscomb senior pitcher Josh Smith and freshman right fielder Lee Wilson have both earned Atlantic Sun Conference honors. Smith was named to the All-Conference First Team as a starting pitcher. Wilson was named to the All-Freshman Team.

Tyler Wilson is the new single season stolen base record holder for the Lipscomb Bisons after stealing his 39th to tie the mark Friday afternoon at Campbell and then adding the record-breaking 40th. Ted Jamison stole 39 in 1971.

Bobby Hamilton, named to the Lipscomb Athletics Hall of Fame in 2002, is considered one of the greatest players to ever play in the Lipscomb baseball program. Named team MVP in 1977, he led the Bisons to the NAIA national championship in 1975, and again in 1978.
