Monday, February 22, 2010Lipscomb junior setter Stefine “Jake” Pease spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday in a tryout camp for the U.S. National Women’s Volleyball Team. She has provided a diary of her experiences each day. The following is the last chapter from Sunday.
Today we got to get in the gym and played straight up for about an hour! It was fun and different at the same time to have different people to play with! We didn't know each other’s names, how they play, and how they like their sets! Experimented with different sets all day! Made me learn how to make changes quickly and how other people play!
Reflection Time: I would not take back anything I have done or learned here. All the girls I got to meet, skills I learned, and everything in between! Memories were definitely made and that is all I could ask for. It’s the memories we remember the most! The experience overall was something I will never forget. It made me grow not only as a player but as a person. Making this adventure here made me grow up a lot and face some of my fears!
One thing I will never forget is how special Lipscomb is to me! On my way out to Colorado Springs on Friday, every time I checked my phone, there were text messages from a coach, athletic staff, players, and teachers! It meant the world to me to know so many people were behind me through my experience.
I want to thank everyone who supported and encouraged my dreams! You are the people to help not only me, but many others reach our dreams every day. I realized how important the Lipscomb family is and will always be in my life. And I could not thank my parents enough for being my support not only through this experience but through everything else in my life.
Making my way back to Nashville!
Giving the glory to Him,
