The Lipscomb Lady Bisons loss to Evansville last week didn’t harm their top 25 prospects.

In fact, in the Ultimate College Softball Poll the Lady Bisons moved from No. 25 last week to No. 24 this week. They are ahead of Massachusetts in the 25th spot. Selected NCAA Division I coaches vote on this poll.

In the USA Today/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Poll the Lady Bisons received nine votes for the top 25.

Massachusetts fills the 25th spot in the poll this week. Baylor received 22 votes followed by BYU with 19, San Diego St. with 12 and then Lipscomb. Fresno State and Hofstra were close behind with eight votes each.

The USA Today/NFCA poll is voted on by NCAA Division I head coaches, one representing each conference. In the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Poll the Lady Bisons received four votes for the top 25.

The Lady Bisons will face No. 12-ranked California-Berkeley Wednesday. It is the first of three games with Cal this week in the Hawaii Spring Fling in Honolulu. The Lady Bisons will also play host Hawaii three times. Hawaii is also receiving votes for the top 25.

Hawaii will be having live stats running throughout the tournament .

Hawaii’s games on Wednesday and Thursday will be broadcast live on Honolulu local TV station, KFVE. There is nominal fee to watch. Jim Leahey will be doing the play-by-play and Lori Santi will be the color analyst.
