The Bisons add eighteen freshman men to the Cross Country and Track & Field teams from eleven different states for the 2011-12 school year. The class adds strength and depth to every event area for the men's team.

Eight Lipscomb University athletic teams received perfect NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores and twelve teams exceeded the national average for private schools in the latest report issued Tuesday by the NCAA.

Josh Jackson ran cross country and track for Lipscomb University, and is now a script supervisor for televised music events, and has had the opportunity to work with popular events such as the Grammys and the CMA Awards. The USTFCCCA has announced those men's teams who earned 2010 Division I All-Academic Cross Country status and the Lipscomb Bisons were included on that list. The Bisons posted a 3.37 grade point average.

Bob Williams has been busy since running cross-country during his time at Lipscomb. He works as a sales manager for Dixie Sales Company, and spends his free time keeping up with his wife, Wanda, and his three children and seven grandchildren.

Tim Muller (SO – Denver, Colo.) led the way again for the Lipscomb Bisons, finishing first for the team and 33rd overall at the Willamette Invitational in Salem, Ore. He covered the 8000m course in 24:51, the second best 8-K time in Lipscomb history.

The Lady Bisons appear in the South Regional rankings for the first time in Lipscomb history. The regional pollsters put them at ninth. The men re-appear in the rankings at 15th in the region.

Lipscomb cross country coach Bill Taylor sent most of his top runners to Vermont to compete with the host team, Columbia University and St. Michael's College. The Lady Bisons finished second behind Columbia. The Bisons were third behind Columbia and Vermont.
