After a solid 2-1 effort in the inaugural Lipscomb Invitational this past weekend, the Lipscomb Volleyball tournament continues home action at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night against Western Kentucky at Allen Arena.
“It’s going to be another battle,” said Rosenthal. “Like Arkansas State, Western Kentucky is one of the powers in the Sun Belt and has been for years. We played them this spring and split two games with them. “
“I’m excited,” said Rosenthal. “This is the first time Western Kentucky has played here. We talk about who we compete against and Western Kentucky is one of those perennial programs that is continually in that top-50, top-35, top 40 (RPI) range and that’s who we want to be and who we want to play.”
The Hilltoppers roll into the “Music City” this week having won five of their first six matches. Kentucky handed WKU their first loss of 2011 on Friday night but the Hilltoppers rebounded with wins over Virginia Tech and Ohio on Saturday. Jordyn Skinner leads Western Kentucky offensively averaging 3.65 kills per set. WKU has outhit opponents .242 to .124 this season.
