New Orleans, La. – After a win and a respectable third-place finish at the Chattanooga Powerade Invite, Friday, the Lipscomb University cross country teams made moves up the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association regional polls, released Monday morning by the Coaches Association.
After being ranked 13th in the preseason, the men’s team moved up one spot to 12th based on their third-place team finish in Chattanooga. The men’s field was a strong one, with host Chattanooga (sixth) and MTSU (15th) finishing ahead of the Bisons.
The women’s team moved up three spots to seventh in the South Region, leapfrogging Alabama, Ole Miss and UAB after their win at the Powerade Invite. The Bisons are remained one spot behind North Florida in the region.
Saturday, the Lipscomb cross country teams will be on the Vaughn’s Gap course at Percy Warner Park for the second time in three weeks when they compete at the Vanderbilt Invitational, beginning at 8:45 a.m. with the men’s 8K race.
