Wednesday, April 04, 2012 OLD HICKORY, Tenn. – The Lipscomb women’s golf team wrapped up the 2012 regular season with a fifth-place finish in the Belmont Invitational that concluded on Tuesday at the Old Hickory Country Club. The Lady Bison were paced by sophomore Savanna Schubert, who carded a +7, 151 (72-79) to finish in fourth place in the event earning All-Tournament honors. Freshman Danielle Grace posted a 163 (82, 81) to tie for 20th. Fellow rookie Morgan Bucher finished one shot behind Grace with a 164 (82, 82) in a tie for 24th. That was three shots ahead of freshman Samantha Khan’s 167 (81, 86), who landed in 28th place. Sophomore Sabrina Ferreri rounded out the Lady Bison competitors with a 173 (85, 88) in a tie for 35th. Belmont took home top honors in the event with a team score of 616 ahead of Evansville, who finished second at 633. The Lady Bison finished with a 645 in the event. The Lady Bison head to the “Sunshine State” this weekend for the Atlantic Sun Conference championships hosted by Stetson in Deland, Fla. |
