NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Squeezed in the middle of back-to-back weekends in the “Sunshine State”, the Lipscomb baseball team returns home on Wednesday night for a 6 p.m. non-conference contest against Western Kentucky at Ken Dugan Field at Stephen L. Marsh Stadium.
“Western Kentucky is another good team that comes in,” said Lipscomb skipper Jeff Forehand. “We have to be prepared. After dropping two on Saturday and Sunday, we’re anxious to get back on the field. We need to have a good game tomorrow night to prepare us for the weekend.”
The Bisons (17-19) are looking for a repeat performance from redshirt-freshman Will Blalock, who picked up the win against UT Martin last Wednesday allowing one run in five innings of work. Blalock is 1-1 on the year with a 3.20 ERA in seven appearances. Western Kentucky (14-21) has not announced a starter for the 12th meeting of the two teams in the Division I era.
Both clubs are coming off weekend road series losses with Lipscomb dropping the final two games of the set at North Florida, while Western Kentucky dropped 2-of-3 at Arkansas State.
The contest will air live on ASun.TV with Justin Seamon handling play-by-play duties. Admission is $5 for adults ages 13 and up and free for those ages 12 and below.
