NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Heading just a mile north of campus, the Lipscomb men’s soccer team will participate in the Belmont Invitational this weekend at E.S Rose Park against Bradley on Friday and Central Connecticut State on Sunday.

The Bisons, boasting the Atlantic Sun Defensive Player of the Week in Ethan Summers, are coming off a dramatic 3-2 overtime victory over Oral Roberts. Summers hit the equalizing goal in the 88th minute and the game-winner in the fourth minute of overtime to seal the victory.

Lipscomb enters the weekend with a 2-4-0 record. The matchup with Bradley will be just the second in school history as BU took a 2-1 victory in Peroia, Ill. in 2007. The match with Central Connecticut State will make the first time the two schools have squared off.

Bradley, 3-1-2, will be the fourth Missouri Valley Conference school the Bisons have played this season. The Braves have not lost in their last four contests, posting two victories and two ties. Most recently Bradley played to a 1-1 draw with Cincinnati and beat Portland 4-1.

BU, chosen to finish third in the MVC, is led by Jochen Graf who has five goals on 26 shots while Keegan Balle and Desmond Campbell each have three goals apiece. Goalkeeper Brian Billings has 22 saves, allowing seven goals in six games.

Central Connecticut State enters the weekend with a 1-3-0 record, having lost their last three. Most recently, CCSU fell 2-0 to New Hampshire. The Blue Devils lone win came in the season opener against Yale, a 2-0 triumph.

Picked to finish seventh in the Northeast Conference, Eddy Bogle leads the team with two goals and 10 shots. Goalkeeper Anthony Occhianlini has given up six goals while stopping 12 shots.

Following the Belmont Invitational, the Bisons travel to Birmingham, Ala., for a contest with UAB on Sept. 22.
