NASHVILLE, Tenn.-The Lipscomb Lady Bisons moved up four spots this week in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross County Coaches Association’s regional rankings.

The Lady Bisons are in ninth place in the South Region after a fourth place finish Saturday in the Crimson Classic hosted by the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

North Florida, the only other A-Sun team ranked in the regional ratings, dropped two spots to 11th.

"The upward move in the NCAA I South Regional polls reflected what we saw on Saturday, a nice improvement over the past two meets and some positive momentum,” Lipscomb cross country coach Bill Taylor said. “It also reflected that we have a ways to go to be where we want to be.

“The girls don't look at the rankings, so it doesn't matter from a team standpoint. But, of course, for the program it's always better to be moving up in rankings than dropping down.”

Last week the Lady Bisons, the defending A-Sun Champions, were ranked second in the conference poll, one point behind North Florida. The new poll will be released later in the week.

"Wherever the polls rank us though, we know what needs to be done and Saturday gave them confidence that they have turned the corner,” Taylor said. “They are ready for the next race."

The next race is the A-Sun Championships Oct. 27 in Fort Myers, Fla.
