Bradley/Northern Illinois come to Music City for weekend series

Thursday, March 14, 2013 NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Lipscomb baseball team continues home action this weekend hosting Bradley and Northern Illinois at Ken Dugan Field at Stephen L. Marsh Stadium. The weekend gets underway with a Friday afternoon affair between the Bisons (6-12) and Bradley (5-9) at 4 p.m. Lipscomb junior Hunter Brothers will make his second start of the season against the Braves. The righty is 2-1 on the season with a 4.80 ERA in 15 innings pitched. Brothers will face off against John Nasshan, who is 0-3 with a 4.95 ERA on the mound. Saturday’s tilt features the first-ever meeting between Lipscomb and Northern Illinois (3-13). Senior righthander Davey Hackett will take the hill for Lipscomb against the Huskies entering the contest with a 1-3 record and 7.00 ERA. Hackett will battle fellow righty Eli Anderson, who boasts a 1-3 record and a 3.28 ERA. The weekend wraps up on Sunday with the fourth meeting of the season between Lipscomb and Bradley. The game was originally slated for a 1 p.m. start but was moved up this week to a noon first pitch due to travel for the Braves. Redshirt sophomore Will Blalock will make the start for Lipscomb after a solid outing last Sunday at then No. 7 Ole Miss. Blalock is 0-1 with a 4.24 ERA. Stephen Toma is slated to make the start for the Braves boasting a 1-0 mark and a 4.15 ERA. All three games will be available to watch live on http://www.asun.tv for free.
