NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Playing in the second of three-straight road games to start the season, the Lipscomb women’s soccer team travels to Birmingham, Ala., to face Alabama A&M Monday in a 4 p.m. contest.
The Lady Bisons, 0-1-0 on the season, will look to pick up its first win against the Lady Bulldogs who are 0-2-0 on the young season.
The Purple and Gold fell 2-0 to Western Carolina Friday. Alabama A&M, with two games under its belt lost 5-0 to South Carolina State and 10-0 to fellow Atlantic Sun school Mercer.
Estelle Esperance leads the A&M charge with four shots, placing three on goal. Marissa Oehler has played every minute between the posts for the Lady Bulldogs making 20 saves.
Junior Baylee Linnell led the Lady Bisons with two shots against WCU, placing one on net. Freshman goalkeeper Anna Buhigas made seven saves in her collegiate debut.
Monday’s match will be the second-ever between the two schools in the NCAA era. In 2001, Alabama A&M claimed the 3-2 victory in Nashville.
Lipscomb makes the short trek to Middle Tennessee State on Friday before making its 2013 home debut hosting UT-Martin on Sept. 2.
