In its last match of the fall campaign, the Lipscomb men’s golf team will travel to Jacksonville, Fla., to compete in the Eagle/Osprey Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday.
Hosted by North Florida and Georgia Southern, the Eagle/Osprey Intercollegiate will be a 54-hole format with 36 being played on Monday and the final 18 on Tuesday.
The intercollegiate will be played at Deerwood Country Club in Jacksonville, Fla. The course is a par 72 covering 7,223 yards.
Top 100 teams will be peppered throughout the toughest field of the fall for the Bisons.
Of the 15 teams participating, nine are ranked in the top 100, according to the Golfstat rankings. Neighboring Vanderbilt University will be the highest ranked school at No. 18 in the nation. Other top 100 schools include No. 37 Mercer, No. 38 GRU Augusta, No. 53 Southeastern Louisiana, No. 63 North Florida, No. 69 Georgia Southern, No. 85 Troy, No. 95 Southern Mississippi and No. 99 FGCU.
Bisons coach Will Brewer will take juniors Caston Roberts and Paul Kleine-Kracht, along with three freshmen, Mikey Feher, Dowling Armstrong and Sydney Chung to Jacksonville.
In last week’s event, Chung fired a season low 65 in the second round on his way to a sixth place finish. He leads the team in stroke average with a 72.75. Feher is just behind with a 72.8. Chung and Feher have combined for five top 10 finished this fall.
The tournament will be Roberts first time playing since an injury sidelined him after the first event of the fall.
