Men's soccer drops 2-1 decision to Furman

The Lipscomb Bisons soccer team ended a two-game win streak Friday night with a 2-1 loss to Furman at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.

The game was the Atlantic Sun Game of the Week.

Coleton Henning gave Furman a 1-0 lead at the 6:18 mark of the first half. Alec Kann earned the assist.

The Bisons found the net at the 47:02 mark of the second half with Garret Pettis scoring on an assist from Miguel DaSilva to tie the game at 1-1.

At 57:57 of the second half Furman came back with what proved to be the game-winning goal by Caleb Suri. Henning picked up an assist on the play along with Eric Cobleigh.

Brent McGee and Patrick Walsh split time in goal for the Bisons. Brent McGee played the first 45 minutes and made three saves while allowing one goal. Walsh played the second half and also made three saves and allowed one goal.

The Bisons outshot Furman 28-14. Furman, however, held an 8-7 edge in shots on goal.

The Bisons, 3-5, will host Wofford Sunday afternoon at 2:30. Furman raised its record to 4-4-1 with the win.
