The Atlantic Sun Preseason Awards were announced by the conference office, Wednesday afternoon. Seniors Whitney Kiihnl and Caroline Mason were honored as preseason all-conference selections, and Lipscomb was picked to finish second in the conference.
Preseason top-25 polls are out, and the Lipscomb Lady Bison softball team is receiving votes in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll. It's the second season in a row Lipscomb received votes in a preseason poll.
With the season less than a month away, Lipscomb softball is earning some preseason hardware. Seniors Whitney Kiihnl and Caroline Mason were named to the College Sports Madness Preseason 2012 All-Conference first team.
Lipscomb junior outfielder Bree Thurman did an exclusive interview with the A-Sun about her work with the SAAC (Student Athlete Advisory Committee).
In preparation for the upcoming season, Lipscomb softball started outdoor practice Tuesday with a session on Draper Diamond. The season commences on Feb. 10 at the Mardi Gras Tournament in Mobile, Ala.
