Softball set for A-Sun road series with NKU
The Lipscomb Lady Bisons are making their first A-Sun road trip of the season as they head to Northern Kentucky Saturday and Sunday for a three-game series. The two teams will meet in a single game at noon CT. On Sunday a doubleheader will start at 11 a.m. CT.

The Lipscomb Lady Bisons opened the Atlantic Sun portion of the season with a split of a doubleheader with Stetson. They posted a 10-3 win in game one, but fell 4-0 in game two Saturday at Draper Diamond at Smith Stadium.

The Lady Bisons (11-14) will be out to move to the head of the class this weekend as Stetson visits for a three-game series at Draper Diamond at Smith Stadium. A doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, while Sunday’s series finale will be played at 1 p.m.

Stealing more than 20 bases in a season isn’t an unusual accomplishment for Lipscomb softball player Brittany Elmore. Stealing 21 bases in only 25 games, however, is a big deal even for Elmore.

Combining for 22 hits and 23 runs in a doubleheader is enough to give any team a boost. Wednesday night at Tiger Stadium the Lady Bisons beat host Tennessee State 13-1 in game one and 10-1 in the nightcap. Both games were called after five innings due to the run-rule.

The Lipscomb softball team is making a short road trip in search of something that has proved elusive – a pair of road victories. The Lady Bisons are 0-4 in true road games. The first game in the doubleheader starts at 4:30 p.m. Game two is scheduled to begin at approximately 6:30.

The Lipscomb Lady Bisons spring break schedule has changed. Wednesday afternoon they will make a short trip across town to face Tennessee State in a doubleheader scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m. at Tiger Stadium. Game two is scheduled for approximately 6:30.

A seventh inning grand slam gave Binghamton a 7-5 advantage and proved to be enough for the win against the Lipscomb Lady Bisons Sunday morning at the Hyatt Place Invite at North Carolina State.

For the second game in a row the Lipscomb Lady Bisons softball team went to extra innings before losing. Saturday afternoon they fell 3-2 to Fordham in a rain-shortened second day of the Hyatt Place Invitational hosted by North Carolina State at Dail Stadium.

The Lady Bisons will play one game today and one Sunday as rainy weather conditions have forced an altering of the schedule for the Hyatt Place Invitational hosted by North Carolina State. The Lady Bisons face Fordham at 4 p.m. today and close with Binghamton Sunday at 8:30 a.m.

The Lipscomb Lady Bisons faced a pair of top 25 teams in the first day of the Hyatt Place Invitational and were unable to pick up a win. Despite a solid pitching effort by right-hander Kelly Young the Lady Bisons fell 1-0 to host North Carolina State, the No. 25 team in the nation Friday night. Earlier in the day they lost 10-2 to No. 21-ranked Missouri in six innings at Dail Stadium.
