Bree Thurman and the rest of the Lipscomb Lady Bisons started the Atlantic Sun Softball Championships Wednesday afternoon at Draper Diamond. She found a few moments to talk with Lipscombsports.com about her future after softball in an edition of “Where are they going?”.

The Lipscomb softball team opens Atlantic Sun Conference play on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Draper Diamond. The Lady Bisons, the fourth seed and tournament host, plays fifth seeded Kennesaw State.

Brittany Elmore, Paige Neely, Gracey Aguirre, Tanner Sanders, Mickey Bell and Bree Thurman were named by the A-Sun Conference on the postseason team.

Lipscomb softball pitcher Tanner Sanders and outfielder Gracey Aguirre was named the A-Sun Player of the Week.

The Lipscomb softball team sweeps Northern Kentucky in the regular season finale 4-3, scoring the winning run in the top of the seventh inning. LU will be the No. 4 seed in the A-Sun Tournament that starts on Wednesday.

Freshman softball pitcher Tanner Sanders threw a no-hitter in game two at Northern Kentucky. Lipscomb team won 3-0 in game one and 6-0 in game two

The Lipscomb softball team enters the final regular season with three-games on the road against Northern Kentucky with a doubleheader on Friday at noon.

Lipscomb and Stetson softball teams entered the weekend as two of the hottest teams in the Atlantic Sun Conference. So it wasn’t surprising to see them split a doubleheader Sunday afternoon. After winning game one 7-3, the Lady Bisons rallied for three runs in the seventh in game two but fell short 4-3.

Mother Nature got the best of the Lady Bisons on Saturday afternoon. With a doubleheader scheduled against Stetson University in Nashville, the games were canceled due to the steady rainfall in the area all afternoon.

The Lady Bisons softball team hosts Stetson for a three game series beginning at 2:30 on Saturday. Sunday's contest at 1 p.m. will be Senior Day for the lone senior on the squad Bree Thurman.
