Lipscomb's Lady Bisons lost 6-1 in the opening game, but rallied to win the nightcap 12-0 Thursday afternoon in a doubleheader with IUPUI at Draper Diamond on the Lipscomb campus.

In the first game IUPUI opened with a run in the top of the first. The Lady Bisons answered with a run in the bottom of the inning. With one out Niki Bails singled to right field. Julia Davidson followed with a single up the middle. Bails moved to third on an error by IUPUI's second baseman and scored on an error by IUPUI's third baseman.

The game remained tied at 1-1 until the fifth inning when IUPUI exploded for five runs.

Sara Meek pitched for the Lady Bisons, allowing 10 hits and six runs, all earned. She struck out eight and walked three.

The Lady Bisons had seven hits. Davidson led the way with three hits, all singles.

In the second game the Lady Bisons wasted no time bouncing back.

They scored two runs in the first inning. Leigh Little led off with a double to left field. Bails put down a sacrifice bunt and reach base on a throwing error by the IUPUI catcher. Little scored on the play.

Heather Collins reached base on an error by the short stop. Meek singled to center field to score Bails.

In the third inning the Lady Bisons scored four runs. Davidson started the inning with a double to left center. Wilson singled to left to score Davidson. Meek singled to right field. Ashley Villalpando homered to left field to bring home three runs.

In the fourth inning the Lady Bisons sealed the victory with six more runs. Bails singled to center field to start the hitting. Davidson doubled to left center. Collins walked. Jessica Wilson then hammered a grand slam to right center.

Meek singled to left field. Villalpando then homered to left field for the second time in the game.

Kim Jacobson picked up the win for the Lady Bisons. She gave up only two hits and struck out four. She did not walk a batter.

Wilson and Villalpando led the Lady Bisons with a season-high five RBI on two hits each. Wilson had the grand slam and a single. Villalpando had a pair of home runs. Davidson added a pair of doubles. Meek finished with three hits, the most by a Lady Bisons player in the 14-hit attack.
