The Lipscomb Lady Bisons softball team has received many honors this season for its play on the field.

The latest award is from the Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association. The Lady Bisons are one of four teams from the Atlantic Sun Conference honored by the association with an All-Sports trophy for its performance in NCAA postseason play.

The Lady Bisons, winners of both the 2010 Atlantic Sun regular season and tournament championships, made their first trip to the NCAA Tournament, losing to Alabama in the title game of the Tuscaloosa Regional.

The Lady Bisons are one of seven teams earning plaques for softball. The others are Creighton, DePaul, Long Island, Radford, St. Mary’s (Calif.), and Wright State.

Other teams winning plaques from the association from the Atlantic Sun were the ETSU men’s tennis team and North Florida’s men’s golf and women’s tennis teams.
