Lady Bisons struggle against Jacksonville State

Lipscomb's Lady Bisons dropped a pair of games to visiting Jacksonville State Wednesday afternoon at Draper Diamond.

The Lady Bisons lost the first game 3-0 and fell 6-2 in the nightcap.

In game one the Lady Bisons gave up one run in the fourth inning and two in the fifth.

Lady Bisons pitcher Sara Meek (3-7) scattered four hits She struck out seven and walked one.

Meek and designated hitter Ashley Villalpando both had one hit each for the Lady Bisons.

In game two Jacksonville State jumped out to a 4-0 lead with two runs each in the second and third innings. They added one run in the fourth and another in the fifth.

The Lady Bisons prevented the shutout in the sixth inning on a two-run homer to left field by Heather Collins, one of her two hits in the game. Leigh Little also had a pair of hits for the Lady Bisons.

Kim Jacobson pitched two innings and allowed eight hits and four runs, all earned. She walked three and struck out two.

Meek came back to the mound to pitch the final five innings. She gave up five hits and two runs, both earned. She walked two and struck out one.

The Lady Bisons are 6-12. Jacksonville State is 19-4.
