The Lipscomb Lady Bisons softball team will be out to get on the winning track in the Atlantic Sun this weekend when it travels to Campbell Thursday and Gardner-Webb Saturday.

The Lady Bisons are coming off 4-0 and 4-1 A-Sun losses at Stetson in DeLand, Fla., Sunday afternoon. Campbell and Gardner-Webb are the second and third of five consecutive A-Sun doubleheaders on the road for the Lady Bisons.

"Conference-wise we have a tough schedule," said Lipscomb coach Kristin Peck. "We have three of the longest road trips we could have on back-to-back-to-back weekends."

The final two doubleheaders in the string are April 7 in Jacksonville and April 9 at North Florida.

"It will be nice to finally get back home after all of those," said Peck. "We've got some big games to start off with.

"You want to win as many as you can on the road. You depend on the ones at home to insure your conference standings."

The Lady Bisons swept Stetson last season in Nashville, but that luck didn't continue on the road.

In game one the Lady Bisons were held to only three hits with Leigh Little, Heather Collins and Sara Meek accounting for the offensive output.

Meek also pitched the game allowing six hits and four runs, one earned, in six innings. She walked one and struck out seven.

In game two Stetson jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning.

The Lady Bisons answered with one run in the fourth inning when Julia Davidson homered to left center with one out.

Stetson scored one run in the fifth to seal the win.

Also getting hits for the Lady Bisons were Alysha Forsythe, Collins and Kate Richards.

Kim Jacobson pitched for the Lady Bisons allowing nine hits and four runs, two earned, in six innings. Jacobson did not walk a batter and did not strike out a Stetson hitter.

The Lady Bisons are 9-19, 0-2 in the conference.
