JACKSONVILLE, Fla. _ Lipscomb's Lady Bisons couldn't get their bats going Friday afternoon in Atlantic Sun competition in their first meeting with the University of North Florida.
The Lady Bisons lost the first game 2-0. A single to right field by first baseman Heather Collins in the fifth inning was the only hit for the Lady Bisons in the game.
North Florida struck for both of its runs in the fourth inning.
Lipscomb's Sara Meek pitched an outstanding game in the loss, allowing only three hits and striking out three. She walked only one batter.
It was the 25th appearance of the season for Meek who is 7-12.
In the nightcap North Florida pitcher Katie Brosky threw a no-hitter, She walked two batters and did not post a single strikeout.
North Florida scored four runs in the first inning, two in the second and one in the sixth.
Allison Tyree started on the mound for the Lady Bisons. She allowed two hits and six runs, three earned, in 1.1 innings. She also walked five batters and did not record a strikeout.
Meek came on in relief and pitched the final 4.2 innings. She gave up two hits, one earned run and walked one. She also struck out three.
The Lady Bisons are 11-23, 2-6 in the A-Sun. North Florida is 21-18, 4-4 in the conference.
The Lady Bisons play their fifth straight Atlantic Sun doubleheader on the road Sunday at Jacksonville University at noon.
