Box Score (Game Two)

After battling weather conditions all weekend, the Lady Bisons finally played a chilly double-header against Kennesaw State on Sunday.

Kennesaw State remained atop the Atlantic Sun by defeating the Lady Bisons 4-2 in game one, and 8-2 in game two Sunday.

In game one, Christen Campbell got the start for the Lady Bisons, going seven innings and allowed four runs off of eight hits.

Kennesaw State jumped out to an early lead in the first inning of game one, after Klair Wells hit a leadoff triple and then scored on a sacrifice fly by Jennifer Nolan.

The Lady Bisons answered in the bottom half of the second inning when Christen Campbell and Julia Davidson hit back-to-back homeruns to give the Lady Bisons the lead. It was homerun number three on the year for Campbell, and number two on the year for Davidson. The Lady Bisons are now second in the conference in homeruns with 45 on the year.

However, the Owls quickly rallied in the top of the third with a three-run homerun of their own by Jennifer Nolan to give them a 4-2 lead which they would hold onto for the rest of the game.

In the second game of the double-header, the Lady Bisons took an early lead over the Owls in the bottom of the first inning after Lauren Dortwegt reached on an error. Dortwegt then stole second base to get into scoring position for Heather Collins to bring her home with a single up the middle that gave the Lady Bisons a 1-0 lead.

Christy Grisham got the nod on the mound for the Lady Bisons, and was able to pitch three scoreless innings, before exiting the game at the top of the fourth inning for Christen Campbell.

Going into the fifth inning, the Lady Bisons still held onto a 1-0 lead, but then Kennesaw State's bats started to come alive. After only having one hit in the first three innings, Kennesaw State would add 13 hits over the final four innings to sweep both games from the Lady Bisons.

The next action for the Lady Bisons will be this Tuesday, April 17, when they host Western Kentucky University for a double-header that begins at 5:00 p.m.
