Charleston Southern barely holds off Lady Bisons

Nashville, TN - The Lady Bucs of Charleston Southern University narrowly defeated the Lady Bisons in a 4-3 decision on Tuesday afternoon.

The Lady Bisons scored three runs off of five hits but committed two errors early in the game that allowed Charleston Southern to score four runs in quick succession.

The Lipscomb comeback was lead by senior left-fielder Sara Simons with a solo shot in the fourth inning to put the Lady Bisons on the board.

Sophomore shortstop Abby Keese would add one run in the sixth inning, and senior catcher Jennifer Allsup would score in the bottom of the seventh on a fielding error by the Lady Buc left fielder

Sophomore centerfielder Lauren Dortwegt would pick up two hits, and a Sophomore designated player Kellie Sirus picked up a hit to round out the batting for the Lady Bisons.

Keese extended her hitting streak to ten games.

Due to inclement weather, the Lady Bisons only played one game of the doubleheader. Game two will be played on Wednesday afternoon at 6:15 PM.
