Lady Bisons get past Bowling Green State in War Eagle Classic

Final Stats

Nashville, TN - The rematch of the Lady Bisons contest against Bowling Green State proved to be just as exciting as the first one for the Lipscomb softball team.

The Lady Bisons won the game 6-5 with sophomore pitcher Christen Campbell hitting a RBI single to score Kellie Sirus in the top of the sixth inning for what would turn out to be the winning run.

Haleigh Bielstein picked up an RBI single for the Lady Falcons in the bottom of the second inning but the Lady Bisons blasted back in the top of the fourth inning.

Sophomore Abigail Craig pinch running for senior Heather Collins, and freshman Megan Rottler, pinch running for Katie Brokmeyer, and catcher Jennifer Allsup would each pick up a run in the fourth inning to start the Lady Bison scoring.

In the bottom of the inning Zada Lines, would hit an RBI single for Bowling Green State and Allison Vallas hit a three run triple to take a one run lead.

The Lady Bisons would tie the game in the top of the sixth inning when sophomore shortstop slammed a two run shot over the left field fence.

Sophomore pitcher Christen Campbell hit an RBI single to left field to give the Lady Bisons the go ahead.

The Lady Bisons would pick up nine hits in the game including a double from senior right fielder Sara Simons who went two for three today.

The Lady Bisons are now 6-8 and take on defending OVC champion Tennessee Tech at 5:30 this afternoon in their second game of the War Eagle Classic.
