Nashville, TN - After 14 games on the road, the Lady Bison softball team (13-16 overall, 5-1 A-Sun) opens a five series home stand starting with doubleheaders against Florida Gulf Coast and Stetson this weekend.

The doubleheader against Florida Gulf Coast (38-6 Overall, 4-0 A-Sun) is the A-Sun game of the week and is set for a 4 p.m. first pitch at Draper Diamond Friday.

The series will prove to be exciting as the two teams are battling for first place in the conference. The Florida Gulf Coast Eagles are perfect in conference play and the Lady Bisons are in second place, winning five straight conference games after losing one.

The Eagles picked up a pair of votes in this week's Ultimate College Softball Top 25, announced on Tuesday.

"I think we are definitely ready to take them on," says head coach Kristin Peck. "We've been playing really well lately and working on what we need to do to win. I think the players are hungry and want to get out and prove that we can finish at the top of the conference."

The games against the Hatters of Stetson University (27-14 overall, 1-1 A-Sun) will give the Lady Bisons a chance to get revenge on the Hatters for their season ending defeat in the A-Sun Tournament last year.

Game one is set for a 1 p.m. start Saturday at Draper Diamond.

"We took two out of three from them last year, and I think the girls have not forgotten about losing to them in the tournament," says Peck. "We are ready to take them on our field."

"This is the first time that both teams will play us on our new field. We are excited to be back at home and play two top quality teams at our home field."
