Lady Bisons drop first game of doubleheader with ETSU

Final Stats

The Lady Bisons jumped out to a 1-0 lead against ETSU, but couldn't sustain it in game one of an Atlantic Sun doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Draper Diamond.

The Lady Bisons, a 4-1 loser, scored their only run in the third inning. Megan Rottler walked and then stole second base. With two out Lauren Dortwegt reached base on an error by the third baseman. Sara Simons singled to centerfield to score Rottler.

Simons and Rottler were the only Lady Bisons to get hits off of ETSU pitcher Marissa Hardy.

Lady Bisons senior pitcher Kim Jacobson took the loss for the Lady Bisons, pitching all seven innings, allowing three hits and striking out seven. Three of the four runs she gave up were earned.

ETSU tied the game with one run in the fourth and scored three in the fifth. Jessie Hackworth drove home one run with a triple. Cheniece Cason doubled to drive home Hackworth and Kate Powell who had reached base on an infield single.
