The Lady Bisons are 18-12, 5-1 in the A-Sun. Campbell is 19-18, 5-3 in the conference.
The Lady Bisons ended an eight-game winning streak. They have won nine of their last 11 games.
Campbell jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning in game two with two hits in the second inning. The Lady Bisons answered with two runs to tie the game in the bottom of the second capitalizing on a pair of throwing errors by Campbell.
In the third Campbell added two more runs with Sarah Forgacs hitting an EBI-double to left center and another run scoring on a wild pitch.
The Lady Bisons pulled within one run at 4-3 in the fifth. With one out Mollie Mitchell singled to center field. Caroline Mason hit a double to left center. Courtney Billington singled to center field to score Mitchell. The Lady Bisons looked like a threat to tie or take the lead but they were unable to produce another run in the fifth despite having the bases loaded with two outs.
In the sixth Campbell closed out the scoring when Taylor McGee led off the inning with a home run to left field.
J.J. Nelson, 2-5, started for the Lady Bisons in game two. In two innings she allowed six hits and four runs. She walked one, struck out one and was credited with a wild pitch.
Ali Watson came on in relief and threw 3.1 innings. She gave up three hits and one run. She struck out four, walked one and also had one wild pitch.
Whitney Kiihnl, the winner in game one, closed out the second game with 1.2 scoreless innings. She struck out five of the six batters she faced and gave up one hit.
In game one the Lady Bisons slammed four home runs off of three pitchers in an 8-1 win.
Seven of the runs scored by the Lady Bisons were driven in by home runs.
Billington hit a pair of solo home runs. She put the Lady Bisons on the board in the second with a blast to left field to lead off the inning.
In the third the Lady Bisons scored six runs. With two outs Bridgette Begle and Mitchell walked. Mason slammed a three-run homer over the left field fence. Billington singled and Haley Elliott brought her home with a single to right field. Vanessa Medina then sent a ball over the left center fence to bring in the final two runs of the inning.
In the fifth Billington once again led off an inning with a home run shot over the center field fence.
Billington finished with a game-leading three hits. The Lady Bisons combined for 10 hits.
Campbell’s only run also was on a homer. Sarah Ling, Campbell’s No. 9 hitter, sent the ball over the left field fence with one out in the fifth.
Kiihnl, 14-6, went the distance for the Lady Bisons. She gave up six hits, with the first two in the fourth inning. She struck out 11 and walked four.
Christina Melton, 4-4, was credited with the loss for Campbell.
The Lady Bisons are taking the rest of the weekend off. They will be back in action Tuesday in a doubleheader at Middle Tennessee State in Murfreesboro at 5 p.m.
