Softball receives No. 2 seed at A-Sun Championship
The Lady Bisons softball team will be the No. 2 seed in next week's Atlantic Sun Championship hosted by USC Upstate at Cyrill Stadium in Spartanburg, S.C.

Lipscomb will play its first game Thursday at 2 p.m. central time against either No. 3 seed USC Upstate or No. 6 seed Kennesaw State. Those two squads will play in the opening round on Wednesday and the winner will advance to play the Lady Bisons.

Jacksonville won the A-Sun regular season and will be the No. 1 seed at the tournament. The Lady Bisons beat Jacksonville 4-0 in both games of a doubleheader at Draper Diamond on April 8. Jacksonville opens against the winner of No. 4 seed Campbell and No. 5 seed Mercer.

The tournament continues on Friday before concluding on Saturday with the championship game. The winner receives an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.

Lipscomb won the championship last season and advanced to the Tuscaloosa Regional where they defeated UAB twice before falling to Alabama in the regional championship.
