Softball's win streak ends at six

WACO, Texas – The Lipscomb Lady Bisons win streak ended at six Saturday with an 8-0 loss to Missouri in the Getterman Classic.

Missouri is No. 14/18 in two different top 25 polls.

After Missouri scored a run in the first inning, it loaded the bases in the second with two singles and a walk with no outs. Missouri, sparked by a couple of Lipscomb fielding errors, and a grand slam to right field by Emily Crane, put up six runs in the second. They added the deciding run in the fourth with the game called due to the run-rule.

Right-hander Heather Parker started for the Lady Bisons. She gave up five hits and seven runs, two earned, in 1.1 innings. Parker slips to 1-1 for the season.

Coach Kristin Ryman brought in left-hander Ashley Anderson in relief. Anderson allowed three hits and one unearned run in 2.2 innings.

The Lady Bisons had three hits with Kelsey Cartwright, Mimi Cartwright and Brianne Welch connecting for singles.

At 3 p.m. the Lady Bisons face tournament host Baylor, ranked No. 14/16 in two different top 25 polls.
