MACON, Ga. - Lipscomb's Rena' Cothron was named the Atlantic Sun Softball Player of the Week.
Cothron, a senior catcher from Hendersonville, Tenn., compiled a .750 batting average with nine hits in 12 at bats. She tallied three extra base hits with two doubles and a home run for a 1.167 slugging percentage.
The home run was a grand slam in a 10-1 win in the second game of a doubleheader Saturday against ETSU at Draper Diamond at Smith Stadium.
Cothron has a five-game hitting streak with hits in all five games last week, including two games April 2 against UAB. She had three multi-hit games. She had two doubles against ETSU and eight RBI over the five games.
This was her first A-Sun Player of the Week award for the season and the second in her career.
