MACON, Ga. - Lipscomb's Caitlin Plocheck took home the Atlantic Sun Softball Player of the Week honor, announced by the league office on Monday.
Plocheck, a freshman first baseman from Pasadena, Texas, earned her first A-Sun Player of the Week award after leading the Lady Bisons to a 4-1 week.
She batted .588 for the week with hits in four of the five games. Her slugging percentage was 1.11. She was 9-11 in conference play, an .818 batting average.
In Sunday's doubleheader with Northern Kentucky, Plocheck set career-highs with five hits and eight RBIs in a single-game as the Lady Bisons won 25-7 to complete a sweep of Northern Kentucky. That marks the most of any Lipscomb player in a single game this season.
She hit two home runs in game two, one for two runs along with a solo shot. In game one, a 6-0 win over Northern Kentucky, she hit two doubles.
For the week, Plocheck had five extra-base hits, including three doubles and two home runs.
Defensively, she did not commit an error in 22 total chances.
She is an exercise science major.
