MACON, Ga. - Lipscomb's Gracey Aguirre has been honored as this week's A-Sun Softball Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday.
This is her third A-Sun Player of the Week honor and her first of the season.
Aguirre, a senior biology major from Houston, Texas, was instrumental in the three-game sweep over Kennesaw State this weekend.
She had at least one hit in every game and produced multi-hit games in the second and third game of the series.
Her solo home run in game one was the only run scored and gave Lipscomb the 1-0 victory.
She followed that up with another home run in game two and four RBI as Lipscomb clinched the series with a 13-1 win.
Aguirre went 2-for-3 in the final game with her sixth RBI of the series to help the Lady Bisons to the sweep.
For the weekend, she batted .556 and had a slugging percentage of 1.444.
With the sweep, Lipscomb clinched a berth in the A-Sun Championship and moved up to second in the standings.
