MACON, Ga. - Lipscomb's Kelly Young closed out the regular season strong claimed the final Atlantic Sun Pitcher of the Week award, announced by the league office on Monday.
Young earns her second consecutive A-Sun Pitcher of the Week award and fourth of the season overall. Young posted two victories in the final regular season series over FGCU to help Lipscomb clinch the No. 2 seed in the A-Sun Championship.
The Mississippi native began the week with a shutout, allowing only four hits against FGCU. She struckout three in the victory. Young then came back to pitch four innings and strike out five the next day for the win.
Young finished the week pitching 11.0 innings and combining for eight strikeouts. Young leads the league with 204 strikeouts on the season.
She finishes the regular season with 16 wins and league leading 204 strikeouts.
