NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Purple and Gold Challenge softball tournament has made several changes as the result of weather conditions.
The tournament, sponsored by Courtyard by Marriott-Brentwood and hosted by the Lipscomb Lady Bisons, has lost two teams – Drake and Central Michigan. Western Kentucky will fill one of those spots.
Originally scheduled to begin play on Friday, the tournament will now start on Saturday. The entire slate of games for Friday is canceled.
Saturday’s new schedule at Draper Diamond at Smith Stadium begins at 10 a.m. Saturday with Akron facing Western Kentucky. At 12:15 Lipscomb takes on Akron. The Lady Bisons will play Dayton at 2:30 p.m. Dayton and Western Kentucky close out the day at 4:45 p.m.
Sunday’s schedule has also been adjusted. Dayton and Akron matchup at 11 a.m. Lipscomb plays Dayton at 1:15 p.m. to close out the weekend.
