Lipscomb leads A-Sun in NFCA Academic honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) has announced that 14 Lipscomb softball players have earned NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2014-15 academic year.

Lipscomb was one of six Atlantic Sun softball teams qualify and led the conference.

Florida Gulf Coast and Jacksonville had nine players honored. USC Upstate and Stetson each had six, while Kennesaw State had five.

NCAA Division I, with 1,554 honorees, had the most student-athletes with a 3.5 grade-point average or higher.

Lipscomb players who qualified as All-America Scholar-Athletes were Jordan Abell, Dee Baddley, Mimi Cartwright, Becca Dean, Laura Dukes, Brittany Elmore, Kasey Gibson, Paige Neely, Taylor Neuhart, Tanner Sanders, McCarley Thomas, Brianne Welch, Madison Wray and Kelly Young.
