NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb’s Mandy Jordan was named the Softball Pitcher of the Week by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association on Tuesday for their performances for February 20-26.
Jordan posted a 3-0 mark with one save in four appearances in the Troy Classic, including a shutout of 19th-ranked Pittsburgh for the Bisons. The Camden, Ala., native scattered eight hits and struck out eight in a 1-0 victory over the Panthers to start the tournament at Troy.
The sophomore right-hander gave up just five hits and struck out five in a 7-0 shutout against Southeastern Louisiana and allowed one earned run on five hits with nine strikeouts in a 4-2 victory versus Troy. She also tossed a perfect inning to pick up a save earlier in the tournament against the Trojans.
Jordan is 7-2 with a 1.42 ERA and 60 strikeouts in 59.1 innings over 10 appearances this season.
Jordan is the second Lipscomb pitcher to win the TSWA Award. McCarley Thomas won last week. Both pitchers were also named ASUN Pitcher of the Week as well.
